Consulates and customs personnel use Aware software products for collecting biometrics as part of their background check process. Aware software is used to collect biometrics for background checks as part of the visa application process. It is also used to rapidly collect tenprints from visitors arriving by airplane to the U.S.

Credentialing
Aware software is used for several key processes towards to issuance and use of biometric-enabled identity credentials, including biometric enrollment, card personalization, biometric matching for verification, and card reading. These products are used in a variety of credentialing systems, including U.S. federal employee “PIV” cards and seafarer identity cards.

AccuRad ImageShare Server is a software application that provides fast and efficient yet highly versatile viewing of medical images. AccuRad REM Server collects radiation exposure data based on methods specified by IHE’s Radiation Exposure Monitoring (REM) Integration Profile.
AccuRad SDKs provide optimized, standards-compliant implementations of JPEG 2000 image compression standards in compliance with the DICOM protocol.

Libraries and Digital Archives
Libraries utilize Aware's ArchivePack software products for digital archives to store and distribute large digital imagery, such as are found in historical archives. Aware technology enables images to be compressed for efficient storage and viewed remotely over a network very efficiently, so that the viewer may view, pan, zoom, and scroll through large image sets as if the images were stored locally.
Natural Resources Exploration
Aware provides SeisPact™ software to the exploration community for efficient storage and transmission of seismic datasets; for example, from a ship to a research facility on land. These datasets tend to be very large and transmission networks expensive, so compression is valuable.
Image Compression
Aware JPEG 2000 image compression software is used for a wide variety of applications where compression and decompression of still imagery is required.
