


Using MotionWavelets, how many minutes of video
can be captured in a single video file?
If you wanted to capture a long stretch of video, for example if you were recording a television program being received by a TV tuner card, you could use MotionWavelets with a capture frame rate of 15 fps and a data rate of 140 kB/s, and you could record 120 minutes of good quality video in a 1 GB file. (If you captured 16-bit YUV data uncompressed for this long, you would need more than 16 GB of disk space). If you only needed to capture 30 minutes of video, you could increase the frame rate to 30 fps and the data rate to 560 kB/s, producing excellent quality video. Here are a few of the possibilities:
