Fingerprint Background Check Management
Software for Acquisition, Formatting, and Electronic Submission of Digital Tenprints for Background Checks
Together with Aware’s client-based biometric software components, BioSP provides a solution for the acquisition, formatting, and electronic submission of digital tenprints for employee background checks.
The solution consists of:
- Biometric Services Platform (BioSP), a centralized biometric application server for management of client applications and transaction submissions/response traffic, and
- Universal Registration Client (URC) biometric enrollment workstation and and underlying software libraries; used for biographic data entry and validation, tenprint capture, image quality assurance, and live scan hardware abstraction.
In this solution, BioSP functions as the:
- workstation application configuration and distribution manager,
- enrollment data aggregator, and
- interface to an external AFIS service or channeler.
BioSP can be used with or without the URC enrollment application, and can run on either a server or workstation. An authorized administrator can access BioSP securely through its browser-based user interface to perform the following tasks:
- Query and view the status of any tenprint enrollment, submission, or response
- Edit the contents of any tenprint enrollment to make changes or to correct errors such as name misspellings that may occur at enrollment
- Export and download a specific tenprint transaction (e.g. EBTS file) to networked drive or local desktop so that it may be manually dropped into a web portal
- Run management reports that provide enrollment statistics, such as peak hours of operation, operator efficiency, transaction volume, quality of data, and FBI rejections
Centralized Configuration of Enrollment Clients
BioSP Configuration Manager eliminates the need to manually install and configure each URC enrollment client. All updates and changes to the clients are made by a system administrator through the BioSP user interface. Initial installation of the client application is enabled by logging into the BioSP web page and selecting the “install” option. During all subsequent startups of URC, it queries BioSP to determine what, if any, updates or configuration changes have been set for it by the system administrator. The updates are downloaded and installed automatically.
